Eight years ago I was a struggling public school teacher with an idea and a tent. I set that tent up in our backyard in Monument, Colorado, and started welcoming guests. I had no idea it would become Monument Glamping.
What Monument Glamping is today
Monument Glamping is private-property glamping. It is not a campground, an RV park, or an outdoor resort. Guests stay in luxury safari tents and container homes with real beds, and each unit has its own deck, private hot tub, fire pit, and grill. Many sit in creekside settings. You don’t pack camping gear, you don’t share a bathhouse, and you don’t fight for a site. You just show up.
Why hospitality is the heart of it
Wendy and I have always been hospitable people. Glamping lets us live that out every day. Small touches make the biggest memories: a warm hot tub on a snowy night, coffee on the porch by the creek, a fire under the stars. That’s what we build the property around.
Sharing the story at the Glamping Show
This week we’re at the Glamping Show. Our booth is designed to look like the pergolas over our tents, and the structure is meant to give people a taste of the stay. I came up with the concept and Micah did the building. Watching it go from bare timber frame to a finished space was a highlight of the trip.
Plan your stay
If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, an anniversary, or a quiet reset in the Colorado outdoors, you can check availability and book direct at MonumentGlamping.com. Wondering how it works? Just show up. We handle the rest.
