Next step for our special use permit: a new septic system.
I had to dig two holes 75′ from one another to allow the sampler to test the soil. The holes needed to be 8′ deep, 3′ wide, and allow a walk-in ramp on either side. My son, Micah, and I rented a mini-excavator and played in the soil like kindergartners in a sandbox. It was fun!
We nearly had to cancel our soil testing due to a foot of snow falling this week. We kept on schedule, though, and got this significant step underway to get a new septic tank for our glamping operation.
What a view, wouldn’t you say? Can you imagine an outfitters tent propped up on this hill overlooking a beautiful flowing creek? Maybe we’ll have the tents open next winter, not sure. It could make for just as nice of an experience as the summer. The hunter in me appreciates being dumped on with snow while sleeping under canvas.
Results of the soil test come in two weeks. Onto the next thing!
