This winter in Colorado has been unusually quiet when it comes to snow.
Weeks went by with dry ground, blue skies, and the kind of weather that makes you wonder if winter is ever going to show up. Then this past weekend it finally did.
Overnight, Monument Glamping transformed.
The biggest snowfall of the season covered the property, turning the trails, tents, and trees into the kind of scene people imagine when they picture winter in the Rockies.
And our guests couldn’t have timed it better.
The couple staying in our Secret Garden container home woke up to fresh snow across the property. Their dog wasted no time discovering what the morning had delivered. Within minutes, the quiet landscape had turned into a playground of fresh powder, bounding through the snow and exploring every corner of the property.
If you’ve ever watched a dog experience snow for the first time, you know the energy. Every step feels like an adventure.
Meanwhile, the venue stayed warm and cozy. One of the things we love about winter glamping is that contrast between the cold outside and the comfort inside. Guests can spend time exploring the snowy property, then return to a warm space to relax, enjoy a meal, or simply watch the snowfall from inside.
Moments like this are why we built Monument Glamping.
We often think of glamping as a summer experience, but winter has its own kind of magic. Fresh snow quiets everything. The air feels crisp and clean. And the entire landscape feels like it slows down.
Sometimes the best experiences aren’t planned months in advance.
Sometimes they arrive quietly overnight… with a blanket of snow and a very happy dog running through it.
