There is something delightfully ironic about this year’s Mother’s Day.
Wendy—the co-owner and primary host of Monument Glamping—wanted only one thing: to go camping.
So we packed up one of our Davis tents and spent the night beside a quiet lake. We sat around the campfire, watched the moon rise, and enjoyed the peace that only time outdoors seems to provide.
The next morning, many of our children and grandchildren joined us for a large family breakfast by the water. Babies slept in Grandma’s arms. Grandkids explored the shoreline. Paddle boats drifted across the lake. Wildflowers were blooming everywhere.
As I watched our family gather, I was reminded once again why we built Monument Glamping.
At its heart, glamping is not about tents, hot tubs, or amenities.
It is about creating a setting where families can slow down, reconnect, and make memories that endure.
Happy Mother’s Day to Wendy—the heart behind Monument Glamping and the inspiration behind so much of what our guests experience when they stay with us.
