Monument sits between Denver and Colorado Springs, which makes it an easy drive from either. Close enough that you’re not spending the getaway getting there. Far enough that it feels like you left.

After that, we move into fall — which has its own considerable appeal, and we’ll make that case when it arrives. But if what you want is summer, summer has three weekends left in it.
