Every business has people who leave a mark long after they’re gone. At Monument Glamping, Lola is one of those people. A couple of years ago, she was one of our top cleaners β the kind of team member who made the whole property run smoother just by being on it. Her boyfriend at the time, Josh, was around a lot too, and quickly became one of our favorites as well.
Then Josh did something any smart guy in love would do: he moved to Phoenix to be with her. We lost two great people from our team in a single move.
That was a couple of years ago. Since then, Josh and Lola got married β they just passed their one-year anniversary. Josh spent that stretch working on Grant Cardone’s sales team, sharpening the kind of high-intensity people skills that translate directly into hospitality. Lola has been finishing her undergraduate degree online through Grand Canyon University. And this week, they loaded up a U-Haul and started the drive back to Colorado, where both of their families have been waiting for them.
Josh is rejoining Monument Glamping β this time as our Community Manager.
We didn’t plan this as a hiring strategy. It happened the way the best things in a small business happen: two people we genuinely liked moved away, we stayed in touch, life took its course, and now the timing and the fit lined up. Josh comes back with two years of sales and people experience he didn’t have before, and Lola will always be, in our books, one of the best cleaners this property has had.
There’s something in this story that’s true of Monument Glamping more broadly. This isn’t a corporate hospitality chain with a rotating cast of interchangeable staff. It’s a small, private-property glamping business in Monument, Colorado, built on real relationships β with our guests, and with the people who work alongside us. When you book a stay here, whether it’s a safari tent or one of our container homes, you’re stepping into something that a small group of people who actually care about it built and maintain personally.
Josh and Lola’s move back home is a small story in the grand scheme of things. But it’s the kind of story that tells you who we are: a place people want to come back to, whether they’re guests or team.
If you’re planning your own stay in Monument, Colorado, come see what a real private-property glamping experience feels like β no campground chaos, no corporate feel, just your own space, your own hot tub, your own fire pit, and people who genuinely care about the details.
