One of the most overlooked elements in hospitality design is water.
People are naturally drawn to it.
At Monument Glamping, we see this every time guests stay in our King’s Quarters tent. The porch overlooks a gently flowing creek that winds through the property. It isn’t a dramatic river or a large lake — just a quiet Colorado creek moving steadily through the landscape.
But something interesting happens when people sit down next to it.
They stay longer.
Morning coffee turns into a slow start to the day. Guests sit with a book. Conversations last longer. Even the evenings feel calmer with the sound of water moving nearby.
There’s a reason so many hospitality properties incorporate water elements into their design. Lakes, pools, hot tubs, and fountains all create a natural focal point. Water softens the environment and encourages people to pause.
In our case, nature did most of the work for us. The creek was already here when we built Monument Glamping. We simply designed the porch so guests could experience it.
Sometimes the best amenities aren’t something you build.
They’re something you notice and highlight.
If you’re planning a stay with us, the porch at King’s Quarters might become your favorite seat on the property.
